£7,075,100 million of additional funding will be allocated to North Yorkshire from 1 April to help the most vulnerable households.
The Government has announced an extension of the Household Support Fund allocating additional funds to local authorities to support people in their area to pay for energy bills or groceries.
Local Authorities will update their websites with specific details of their support offerings in coming weeks.
Harrogate and Knaresborough MP, Andrew Jones, said: “I am pleased the Government has allocated a further £7 million to North Yorkshire County Council through the Household Support Fund to help the most vulnerable people with rising costs.
“I look forward to working with our local authorities to ensure this funding reaches the vulnerable in our area.”
This support builds on the similar support provided by the Government over the past 18 months by the with the Household Support Fund now worth over £2 billion across its lifetime.
