Harrogate Borough Council (HBC) has invested millions in Knaresborough recently including ongoing work to build a brand new leisure centre and pool. Local MP, Andrew Jones, got a peek behind the hoardings at progress.
The investment is one of many in Knaresborough totalling around £20 million. Three shops on the high street and flats above which have been empty – some for decades – have been bought, renovated and are being brought back in to use. There has been investment in the office facilities at Conyngham Hall business centre and further investment is planned in climate change-beating tree planting and an electric vehicle charging point at Chapel Street car park among many other projects.
