LOCAL ELECTIONS:  “Ask us anything” invitation.

In the run-up to the local elections Conservative candidates have been meeting people on the doorsteps across the district and responding to questions raised by residents.  They have also been setting out their stall in their regular free In Touch community newsletters.

Now they want to extend the opportunity more widely and are inviting questions from Community News readers in a special opportunity to grill candidates.

Borough Council Leader Richard Cooper said: “With the best will in the world there are 45,000 homes in the Harrogate and Knaresborough constituency alone and knocking on every door is impossible, let alone catching everyone in or at a convenient time.

Community News has thousands of readers and so it seems a really good opportunity to ask people to submit questions which candidates and the local Conservatives can then answer on the site.”

Questions should be about local issues and submitted to Councillor Cooper at cllr.r.cooper@btinternet.com and will be answered by the local Conservative candidate team.  For this special opportunity for Community News readers questions should be submitted by 5pm on Monday 25 April and responses will be published beginning on 26 April 2022.

Responses will also be published on the Harrogate and Knaresborough Conservatives Facebook page.

Any resident can of course submit a question or request to any of their candidates from any party using the contact details that most list on their election literature.
