Recently Councillor Matt Scott gave funding from his county council locality budget to improve the surface of the Cinder Path from Poplar Grove to Woodfield Park. This work has now been completed and the path has reopened. Commenting on this Cllr Scott said:
‘This path is well-used by cyclists, dog walkers and children walking to and from the school. The previous potholed surface was prone to flooding and made access difficult for those in wheelchairs or using pushchairs. I had a look at the new surface today and the results are impressive. I hope the work makes access, especially during bad weather, easier for all users.’
