Zoë Metcalfe is our new Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.

Harrogate Borough Councillor, Zoë Metcalfe, has been elected as York and North Yorkshire’s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner in the by-election held earlier today.

The first round of voting resulted in a run-off between Zoë and the Labour candidate in round two. The Liberal Democrats, Independent and Women’s Equality Party candidates were eliminated in the first round.

After second preferences were redistributed the final round result was:

Zoë Metcalfe (Conservative) – 41,760

Emma Scott-Spivey (Labour) – 26,895
