After many months of planning, negotiation and restoration, a little known WW1 memorial to local men now stands proudly at the entrance to Grove Road Cemetery. Cllr Paul Haslam will be laying a wreath there at 11am on November 11.
Cllr Haslam said: ‘I am honoured to have been involved with the project, and I think the new, more prominent setting of this memorial is a more appropriate tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.’
