The August meeting of Harrogate’s planning committee approved the construction of a LIDL store on the site of the former Lookers car dealership.
The store will include a 1,263 square metre sales area, an in-store bakery, customer toilets and 94 parking spaces. It can open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
Cllr Nigel Middlemass stated: “The former Lookers site wasn’t looking great, so we did need to see a new use for the site. Previous use of this site did cause some local parking issues, and if any residents wish to discuss the new use of the site then please do get in touch using the details provided.”
