Fibre optic cable laying contractors have been at work in recent months across south Harrogate. However many Oatlands residents have been appalled by the poor state in which footpaths and grass road verges have been left.
Councillor John Ennis said: ‘It’s great to have improved infrastructure for the broadband on which we all rely these days. But it’s disappointing that in some roads the pavements and verges have been left in quite a mess. I have been in touch with the contractors on numerous occasions, requesting that they come back and put right poor workmanship. There’s more work to be done, and I will keep pressing those responsible. Please let me know if there’s a problem in your road’.
