Local company brings Kickstart to the Harrogate District

Knaresborough-based Your Consortium are currently looking for businesses and charities across Yorkshire who would like to give a young person a great opportunity through the government’s Kickstart scheme. The scheme will provide the full wage for 25 hours/week for 6 months as well as a £1,200 flexible grant to support with equipment, training and support costs.

Sam Alexander, Your Consortium CEO:

“Kickstart is a great programme as it gives businesses the chance to benefit from the skills, talent and time of a young person, whilst giving them an opportunity to gain skills and experience in return. We want to work with values-based organisations who are committed to creating meaningful and inclusive placements for young people of all backgrounds. We’re particularly keen to support small and local businesses and charities who make a positive contribution to our community.

Your Consortium are specialists in supporting small businesses and charities to engage with government funded projects and we pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive approach. We’ve had a lot interest in our new partnership and are excited to speak to other businesses and charities who want to make a difference in the lives of young people.”

More than 120,000 jobs for 16 to 24 year olds have now been created through the government’s flagship Kickstart Scheme, as ministers have urged more employers to get involved.

Andrew Jones MP: “What an opportunity this scheme and Your Consortium are partnering to provide.  Alongside qualifications, when recruiting employers wants to see broad experience of life and of work.  This is a new route to gaining that experience while earning a salary.  I am grateful to Your Consortium for taking this scheme forward locally and would urge businesses to sign up to work in partnership with them and benefit from the hard work and application of a new, young employee and to help that employee grow and develop.”
