North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) have revealed plans to develop an extra care facility at Cardale Park. NYCC have set aside funds to purchase the site which is currently owned by Tees Esk & Wear Valleys NHS Trust. The site was previously earmarked for a new mental health hospital.
Local Councillor Sam Gibbs welcomed the news: “This is good news for the District. There is a high demand for Adult Social Care in the area and this will help meet those demands. It is highly likely that this land would otherwise be used for further housing development, something that the West of Harrogate is already seeing enough of.”
