Which facilities for Knaresborough’s new leisure centre?

August marks the beginning of a series of consultations on Knaresborough’s new Leisure Centre, starting with which facilities residents want to see for the centre.

Residents can now have their say and take part in the first consultation online by visiting http://www.harrogate.gov.uk and searching for consultations. This consultation asks a series of questions relating to leisure centre facilities use and which facilities we would use in the new centre.

Cllr Samantha Mearns said “I am pleased that we have been able to kickstart the consultation to see what the residents of Knaresborough would like in their new leisure centre.  Would you use a sauna or steam room? What equipment would you expect to see in the gym?  Would you take part in a pilates class or is badminton more your thing?”

“The possibilities are there for us to choose from an I hope everyone takes a few minutes to have their say.”

Once the council know what facilities local people want they will demonstrate what is possible on a number of local sites. Residents will be consulted on these findings. It is anticipated that this will take place throughout October with a final decision being taken by Council at the end of the year.
