Flooding repairs in Boroughbridge

Before the coronavirus lockdown, Boroughbridge suffered flooding damage as a result of Storms Dennis and Ciara, flooding twice in just over a week.

The River Ure burst its banks, flooding homes and closing roads for several days.

One constituent contacted Cllr Windass as they woke up to find their home flooded. Following difficulties communicating their situation over the phone to Harrogate Council, Robert attended a meeting with a senior council officer to reach a solution.

Temporary accommodation was then found, and Robert arranged for the council to  collect the constituent’s possessions from their home.
